The « lemon » room

Chambre double citron

On the second floor, side of nature, overlooking the valley at sunrise.

Room for 2 persons: double bed (180 x 200 cm), easily convertible into 2 single beds.

Not the tartness of citrus gives its name to the room, but the dominant color of the wall decoration, based on alime plaster according to an old method, which leaves apparent some original oak beams… When you wake up here, you are above all : two floors below, the small landscaped gardenon the terrace, which Annick maintains carefully throughout the year ; further down, a part of the old city walls with a steep slope of about ten meters; and finally, at the foot of these medieval walls, the narrow lane which was until 1850 the only access to the walled city and some remains of the city gate. Looking up instead, you have a splendid view of the slopes of the valley of Eau d’Yves, a typical landscape of the Entre-Sambre-et-Meuse area, changing colors with the seasons, but always surprising by its mosaic of woods, fields and meadows…
